The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) held a third public consultation about Dover Harbour Board’s application to dredge aggregate from the Goodwin Sands, which ran until 28th September 2017.

These are the responses published so far:

20171004 Kent and Essex IFCA consultation response

20171002 MMO coastal office consultation response

20170928 Natural England consultation response

20170928 MoD-JCCC consultation response

20170928 KWT-TWT consultation response
“We maintain our objection to the proposal to dredge aggregate from the Goodwin Sands recommended Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ), and confine our comments to the further information report provided.”

20170928 Kent County Council consultation response
“After consideration of the information presented in this current consultation, we found no basis to object to the licence being granted, provided that appropriate measures are in place to safeguard the historic environment as highlighted by Historic England’s expected request for an improved Written Scheme of Investigation.”

20170928 BSAC consultation response
“As a consequence, we must recommend that the MMO does not issue a marine licence to the Dover Harbour Board to dredge aggregates from the Goodwin Sands.”

20170927 Historic England consultation response
“We recommend that you do not issue a Marine Licence for this proposed project as there are important matters regarding risk to the known and unknown historic environment that are not adequately addressed in the present application.”

20170906 MCA consultation response

20170825 Trinity House consultation response
“Trinity House have no objections to the above application and confirm any vessels used to exhibit signals as per collregs.”

2070924 Thanet Fishermen’s Association consultation response
“On the basis of the above, while we do not object to the project that Dover is trying to achieve, we object to the dredging application for the Goodwin Sands in its entirety.”
